Passive sentences are special sentences whose predicates are verbs, which is an outstanding problem for foreign students all the time. The amount of errors which is made by foreign students is not only large, the type of which is but also many. In order to make students to learn Chinese passive sentences much more rapidly and better. This paper adopts the way of questionnaire, collects a lot of language materials in which there are many errors made by foreign students when they study and use passive sentences. At the same time, this paper, from the perspective of studying Chinese language itself and teaching foreigners Chinese, analyzes these language materials with errors, summarizes the types of errors, explores the causes of producing these errors and puts forward some points of view about how to improve the teaching of passive sentences and compile a textbook. This thesis consists of six parts. The first part presents the problem and perspective that we will study and methods that we will adopt. The second part makes a summary about the present studying status of the research, and then points out the shortage of predecessors' research. The third part analyzes the situation that foreign students study and use passive sentences. The fourth part classifies the errors and gives an explanation. In the fifth part we explore the causes of producing these errors. Part 6 is the conclusion, which puts forward some points of view about how to improve the teaching of passive sentences and compile a textbook.
