This dissertation is the analysis and comparison of the differences between Chinese and English so as to clarify the discrepancy and difference of sentence structure between Chinese and English and to provide activities in teaching foreigners Chinese and the contrast analysis of Chinese and English with some beneficial and constructive references and lessons.English and Chinese belong to two separate language branches. Chinese and English nationalities have many differences not only in the expression of language, but also in thinking model. This dissertation first introduces the research background of languages comparison and some relevant academic points of view. And then I elaborate my opinions into two parts. In the first part, I analyze the Chinese and English sentence order from three different angles.First, I analyze the Chinese and English sentence order from the angle of different sentence extending mechanisms. English and Chinese have two different sentence extending mechanisms. English sentences belong to forward linear extending mechanisms, whereas Chinese sentences belong to back linear extending mechanisms. Secondly, I mainly analyze and compare the discrepancy of Chinese and English sentence order from the angle of different logic models of Chinese and English nationalities. Thirdly, I mainly discuss and elaborate the discrepancy of Chinese and English sentence order from the angle of linguistic forms. When I demonstrate this viewpoint, I mainly compare and analyze the two aspects:one is the difference of verb movement between Chinese and English; the other is the difference of Chinese and English on whether end weight is paid attention to.The second part of the dissertation is the core. It combines the comparison of English and Chinese sentence order introduced in the first part with practice of teaching foreigners Chinese together. In this section, I classify some common sentence errors by some English native speaking overseas students found when I taught them Chinese in class as an intern teacher. Afterwards, I analyze the reason why these sentence sequence errors form. In the end, I conclude the enlightens and lessons which the analysis of Chinese sentence order brings to the practice of teaching English native speaking overseas students.
