The history of cultural exchange between China and Japan is lasting for a long-term period. In the Sui and Tang dynasties, cultural exchange between China and Japan is mainly most active in the Buddhist studies exchange, it constituted good interaction relations between the Chinese and Japanese; it spurred the Buddhism dissemination in the Eastern Asian; and it laid the important foundation for the constructing harmonious unification East Asian culture circle. Although the cultural exchange is bidirectional by and large, at that time the main performance of cultural exchange is from Chinese to Japan.This dissertation pay more attention to the reason why Buddhism be able to obtain the breakthrough in Japan thanks for the help of study historical cultural mass communication. At the same time, this article is also discussed Buddhism's spreading process in Japan and analyzed the Japanese Buddhism's characteristic. East passes on Japan's Buddhism, is not one kind of mere religion or the specialized belief, but is one kind of various nationalities' spirit and the culture which costed long time to absorption and precipitation by India, Korea, specially China. This kind of Buddhism has the extremely important influence in the Japanese society politics, the religion and the culture.
