Through the analysis of 395 poems written by Wangjian in Complete Poetry of the Tang Dynasty, the author generalized rhyme examples/rhyme with tone of Wang's poems, identified the feet of each one, then summarized the rhyme of those poems written by Wangjian. In order to find out the differences between the usage of rhymes in Wang's poems and that of Guang Yun,the author also made a comparison between the simultaneous uses and single uses of all rhymes in Wang's poems and that of Guang Yun.Based on the research result, the author concluded some practical situations of the sound in Middle Tang Dynasty as the following:(1)Simultaneous use of the rhyme of Dong-zhong and Dong;(2)Simultaneous use of a rhyme of Zhi-zhi and Wei.This conclusion is corresponding to what has been mentioned in the poetry construction of Wang Fanzhi,"the combination a rhyme of Zhi-zhi and a rhyme of Wei in the north dialect may date back to six or seven century A.D."(3)Simultaneous use a rhyme of Yu and Yu-mo.This is consistent with the rhyme use in the poems written by other contemporary poets, which confirms the conclusion that Simultaneous use of the rhyme of Yu(虞),Yu(鱼)and Mo(模)in Middle Tang Dynasty;(4)the use of the rhyme of You(尤),Hou(侯)and You(幽)trends to that of Yu(虞),Yu(鱼)and Mo(模);(5)Simultaneous use of true rhyme and the rhyme of Xin. Wang put the Chinese character Qin in the rhyme of Xin and all Chinese characters in the rhyme of Zhen into rhyme.Although this rhyme appears only four times, the Xin yun also appears four times in all the poems written by Wangjian.Tu Fu,a contemporary poet, put he Chinese character Qin and all Chinese characters in the rhyme of Zhen-chun, which shows that the Simultaneous use of the rhyme of Zhen and Xin in Wangjian's poems is not individual. That he rhyme of Xin should be used individually,as Guang Yun prescribes, may not correspond to the practical sound.(6)the rhyme of Yuan trends to break away from Zhen-she but approach Shah-she.In Wang's poems,Yuan and Hun-hen,together with Xian, are put into rhyme. And the latter is used more frequently. This situation is not same as the Simultaneous use of Yuan and Hun Hen prescribed in Guang Yun,which accounts for the trends of Yuan close to Shan-she;(7)the simultaneous use of Geng(庚),Geng(耕),Qing(清)and Qing(青).Wangli advocates that Geng(庚),Geng(耕),Qing(清)and Qing(青)belong to one category in the phonology in Wei and Jin Dynasty and North and South Dynasty, while they belong to two different categories in Middle Tang Dynasty, but they are combined into one in Late Tang Dynasty. However, from the use of Rhymes in Wangjian's poems,it is concluded that the Simultaneous use of Geng(庚),Geng(耕),Qing(清)and Qing(青)has been obvious in Middle Tang Dynasty.According to the previous research,Geng(庚),Geng(耕),Qing(清) and Qing(青)are regarded to be in the same category. All of these have proved the Simultaneous use of Geng(庚),Geng(耕),Qing(清)and Qing(青)in Middle Tang Dynasty.
