This thesis is a systematic research on the grammatic form, pragmatic functions, interrogative focus , of modern Chinese on the basis of the prior research achievements especially semantics, cognitive linguistics, with the Second language Acquisition and other related theories as a guide,and, also with surveys, comparisons and analyses of language materials in conjunction. The thesis is made up of five basic parts as follows:Chapter One summarizes the Chinese interrogative sentence and introduces the historical and present researches on the topic, providing an in-depth reflection on researches of the field of theoretical and practical significance. In addition, the definition and classification of Chinese interrogative sentence are also included.Chapter Two tries to compare the the essentials in question of the interrogative sentence of Chinese and Mongolian,with respect to interrogative particles of mood,the WH-words,and conjunction.Chapter Three is to make a summary of the prior research achievements of interrogative focus and interrogatives. It also probes"Chinese interrogative sentence"and"Mongolian interrogative sentence" for the purpose of the comparative functional analysis of interrogative focus ,with an attempt to establish rules of learning Chinese as second language for native Mongolian student and to find corresponding teaching strategies for the learning.Chapter Four is, first, to analyse the causes of native Mongolian students' errors in using Chinese interrogative sentence, and ,second,to describe the process of acquiring a second language and explore its regularities.Chapter Five explains the interrogative constructs in Chinese and Mongolian languages, with a Chinese and Mongolian language contrast analysis. It in the meantime analyses the causes of native Mongolian students'errors in using Chinese interrogative sentence. The thesis ends with the chapter which summarises the explored results and appropriate techniques for teaching Chinese interrogative sentence to Mongolian students with good teaching strategies.
