ObjectiveAs the development of college education, there are some new problems appeared in the process of undergraduate students'politics education. The psychological health problem is a typical one. Psychological health may express in many ways, also, it can be influenced by many factors. According to the feature of undergraduate students, colleges should make the psychological health education as a part of their work, further more, encourage students develop in a more balanced way. However, nowadays the cognition of college and our society is insufficiency, the management of psychological record is not standard, the utilization of psychological counseling administration is in low level, lack of psychological counselors, psychological health education always been taken in medical ways, all of the problems mentioned above reveal that the system of psychological health education in china is still not so perfect. The object of our study is to interfere the undergraduate students' psychological health problem by the way of combining psychological consult and politics education, and then, make an evaluation on the result. We wish that our study can enrich the practice of psychological health education and offer some basic for finding an effective psychological interventional model.MethodUse PHI to test the undergraduate students who came into the 7 year system of China Medical University from the year of 2001 to 2007, in order to make an evaluation on the psychological health status of medical students. Choose the students (came into China Medical University after 2006) who has psychological problems as the subjects. The subjects were separated into experimental group and control group. The experimental group received psychological consult and politics education, control group received politics education only. Variance analysis and T-test were used to make a quantitive analysis on the test results, moreover, we also made qualitive analysis according to the typical cases and the appearance of students themselves. We considered both of the quantitive analysis and qualitive analysis to make a final evaluation of the interventional effect.Results1. The occurrence of psychological problem in Medical students appeared in a very level according to the results of PHI test. The rate of somatization, depression, and exciting status is higher than nationwide norm.2. Compared to girls, the depression scores of boys was significantly lower. However, the scores of anxiety, morbid personality, suspect, and unrealistic were significantly higher than girls. There were no significant difference in somatization and exciting status.3. The scores of different grades were significantly different. The scores of students in low grades were higher, in contrast, the scores of students in graduate grade were lower.4. The scores of somatization, depression and exciting status were significantly different in different majors. The scores of students in Japanese language class were higher.5. The morbid personality scores of poverty students were significantly lower than other students. There were no significantly differences between poverty students and other students in the other scores.6. After intervention, the occurrence of psychological problem became lower significantly in both groups in different degree. The depression, anxiety, suspect and unrealistic scores of students in experimental group significantly decreased than controls. The anxiety, morbid personality, unrealistic scores of students in control group decreased significantly.Conclusions1. The psychological health problem of medical students shouldn't be ignored. According to the test results of PHI, the somatization, depression, and exciting status of medical students were significantly higher than nationwide average level. This situation should be emphasized.2. The psychological problem of medical students usually represent as study difficult, interpersonal relationship crisis, negative attitude, intrapsychic ataxia, and so on. In this situation, we should pay attention to these problems and make promptly intervention.3. Study pressure, communication disorders, personality factors, and the stress stimulus of life events are the common reasons inducing to the appearance of psychological problems. However, the pressure of economy and employment haven't taken an important role.4. The combination of psychological consult and politics can help for the improvement of psychological status in medical students. Especially in the aspects of depression, anxiety, suspect, and unrealistic, the combinational intervention is significantly more effective than politics only.
