ObjectiveTo study mental health of 1-4 grade medical students;To give comprehensive intervention for medical students with psychological symptoms;To study the impact of comprehensive intervention on mental health and academic achievement and activities of the performance.MethodsIn this study, There were 498 medical students of China Medical University from first grade to fourth grade received sampling survey respectively by SCL-90 symptom checklist and EPQ,Study mental health of medical students.There are comprehensive intervention for medical students with psychological symptoms,interventions include psychological counseling, lateral communication, ideological and political work, administrative intervention, incentives and other methods.To analysis data of descriptive statistics, variance analysis, correlation and regression analysis, To compare and analyse the data and draw preliminary conclusions. Comparative analysis of the control group and experimental group,study of the impact of comprehensive intervention on academic achievement and activities of the performance,Make suggestions to improve the level of mental health of medical students.ResultsSCL-90 questionnaire results of medical students compared with the national normal norm have significant differences and scores are higher than the norm in total,positive items,positive project average,compulsion,anxiety and mental illness. Boys compared with the national norm have significant differences and scores are higher than the national norm in the total score, positive items and anxiety; Girls compared with the national norm have significant differences and scores are higher than the national norm in positive items, anxiety, terror, paranoia and mental illness .Boys and girls have significant differences in forced, terror, other aspects, scores of boys are lower than girls. Between grade has significant differences in positive project average, physical, and other aspects.EPQ questionnaire results of medical students showed that urban and rural students have significant differences in the dimension of E and P , scores of urban students are higher han rural students; Cadres and the general students have significant differences in the dimension of E, scores of cadres are higher than the general students; CPC members and members of the Chinese Communist Youth have significant differences in the dimension of P, scores of CPC members are lower than members of the Chinese Communist Youth .SCL-90 and the EPQ dimension's correlation analysis showed that it is a negative correlation between the dimension of E and the positive items , interpersonal relationships, paranoia, mental illness;it is a positive correlation between the dimension of N and the factor of SCL-90;it is a positive correlation between the dimension of P and the other factor of SCL-90 except terror; it is a negative correlation between the dimension of L and the other factor of SCL-90 except total, compulsion, paranoia; The regression analysis of EPQ and SCL-90 showe that the dimension of N, P on the SCL-90 have a good prediction..Medical students results have relevance of the SCL-90 and no significant correlation with the EPQ.After comprehensive intervention for medical students, there are significant improvement in mental health, and academic performance and activity performance of the experimental group have a significantly increased performance.ConclusionsThe study shows that the mental health of medical students is lower than the national normal people level. In terms of gender, there is a significant difference, girls have more psychological problems than boys; Between grade, there is a significant difference , lower-grade students is slightly better than higher grades; With the political ideals of the students is better than non-students; Urban students are more extroversion than rural students; Cadre of students are more extroversion than the general students.The study shows that, EPQ has good relevance of SPL-90;psychotic and nervous people tend to have psychological problems more easily. SCL-90 has good relevance of the results.the active integrated intervention improve the mental health and academic achievement and the activities of the performance.
