During the process of teaching Chinese to foreigners, Compliment of Chinese language is not only complex but also very important for the foreign students. There is no "compliment" in Thai language. What's more, the function of the resultant compliment of Chinese language is quite special. It can reflect the typical feature of Chinese language. As a result, the resultant compliment of Chinese language is very difficult for the Thai students to master and there are many errors when they use this special structure.Apart from the appendix, the thesis is devided into seven chapters. The first chapter introduces the meaning, the scope, the method and the theories of the research and the source of data. The second chapter generalizes the status quo on the resultant compliments from many thesises. After comparing the Chinese language and the Thai language, the third chapter discusses how Chinese result complements are expressed in Thai language. The order, method and content of the questionnaire are set out in the fourth chapter. The most important parts are the fifth, the six and the seventh chapters. The fourth chapter describes the types of errors when the Thai students learn the resultant compliments. And the reasons for these errors and the solutions to this problem are presented in last two chapters. We hope that this study can have some postive effect on the teaching Chinese to Thai students.
