Meta-emotion is a part of emotional intelligence. It refers to the psychological operational ability by which individual operates his or her own emotions. As an emotional capacity,meta-emotion is important on maintaining self-consistency and congruence, promoting social adaptation and enhancing the individual's mental health. Against the background of constructing the harmonious society, the study of relationship between high school students'meta-emotion and self-consistency and congruence, social adaptation.has important theoretical and practical meaning. It may help us to abundant meta-emotion theory, understand the meta-emotion status of high school students well and promote high school students'psychological health education.This study conducted in four areas:First, made the High School Students'Meta-emotion Questioner on the basic of constructing meta-emotion theory; Second, investigated 568 students in 7 grades of four high schools in Shanghai area by using High School Students'Meta-emotion Questioner ; Third, explored the relationship between high school student's meta-emotion and self-consistency and congruence by using High School Students'Meta-emotion Questioner and Self Consistency and Congruence Scale, Further analysis the predict effect of high school students'meta-emotion on self-consistency and congruence; Fourth,, explored the relationship between high school student's meta-emotion and their social adaptation by using High School Students'Meta-emotion Questioner and High School Students'life adaptation Questioner. Further analysis the predict effect of high school students'meta-emotion on social adaptation.Through these studies,the author obtained the following major conclusions: (1). High School Students'Meta-emotion Questioner developed by the researcher have good reliability and validity, and can be used as an effective tool in the investigation of high school students'meta-emotion; (2). The Meta-Emotion of high school students includes five aspects: expression of self-emotions, identification of self-emotions, regulation of self-emotions, anticipation of self-emotions and experience of self-emotions; (3). The general level of high school students'meta-emotion is relatively low; there are significant differences between genders, grades, academic,whether as a class cadre and family variables; (4). There is extremely significant positive correlation between high school students'meta-emotion and self-consistency and congruence—the higher meta-emotion level,the higher self-consistency and congruence degree,and the former has significantly predict effect on the latter;(5)There is extremely significant positive correlation between high school students'meta-emotion and social adaptation—the higher meta-emotion level,the better social adaptation,and the former has significantly predict effect on the latter.
