Self-consistency and congruence is an important part in the study of ego,andmainly refers to the self-internal harmony and the coordination between the egoand experience. As a kind of positive internal psychological resources,self-consistency and congruence can improve the individual’s social adaptationability and promote the individual’s mental health. Under the background ofconstructing harmonious society, this research is on the basis of the socialadaptation of cognitive model, studying the relationship between self-consistencyand congruence and social adaptation of adolescents, especially discussingexplanatory style, as a cognitive variable, how to interpretative in adolescents’social adjustment process. To some degree, this study has an important theoreticaland practical meaning in promoting high school students’ mental health education.We investigated by investigation and questionnaire,combining with othermethods, conducting the following several aspects of research: First, made thehigh school students’ self-consistency and congruence questionnaire on the basisof conducting self-consistency and congruence theory; Second, investigated theGuangzhou high school students’ self-consistency and congruence developmentcharacteristics by using self-consistency and congruence questionnaire; Third,explored the relationship between high school students’ self-consistency,explanatory style and social adaptation, by using the self-consistency andcongruence questionnaire, explanatory style and the middle school students’living conditions questionnaire,focusing on the effect and path structure ofexplanatory style in the intermediaries between self-consistency and congruenceand social adaptation.Through the above research, this paper mainly obtained the followingconclusions:(1)The high school students self-consistency and congruence questionnaireincludes three dimensions22projects, and the statistical analysis shows that the questionnaire has good reliability and validity, and can be used as an effective toolin the investigative of high school students’ self-consistency and congruence.(2) On the whole, the youth self-consistency and congruence belongs to thenormal distribution, and the majority has a middle level of development.(3) The youth self-consistency and congruence development have no significantdifference in the gender, family variables and whether they are the-only children,but in all dimensions the difference is different.(4)The self-consistency and congruence development of teenager has a greatsignificant in grade, with the rise of grade; self-consistency and congruencedevelopment level is on decline.(5) The youth self-consistency and congruence,explanatory style have extremelysignificant correlation, and youth self-consistency and congruence,explanatorystyle have an remarkable prediction function to social adaptation.(6) Explanatory style has an intermediary role between the youth self-consistencyand congruence and social adaptation.
