Ethnolinguistics' universal laws make the discribe to things' appearance, behaviour and sound more accurate. Onomatopoetic words and mimicry words are the best way to discribe things' appearance, behaviour and sound.To the pepole whose mother language is Korean, it's difficult to understand the meaning of onomatopoetic words and mimicry words coeerctly and translate them. Because it will make an effect on instinctice feel of language with a little change on onomatopoetic words and mimicry words. To resove this problem, this text will reserch the problem about the traslation of onomatopoetic words and mimicry words through contrasting anlysis Japan cartoon book'NANA'and this book's korean version.By analysing the'NANA"s Japamese traslatiom and korean traslation,it found that there are something in common.1 Korean onomatopoetic word and mimicry word's finals and initials can be replaced-by each other, and it's the same to Japanese onomatopoetic words and mimicry words.2 The frequency of occurences of 3 syllable and 4 syllable is very high,and many reduplications in it.3 There is a certain correlation between phonological and meaning in onomatopoetic words and mimicry words.In the other side, Korean onomatopoetic word and mimicry word is different from Japanese onomatopoetic word and mimicry word.1,3 syllable and 4 syllable's frequency of occurences is the highest in Japanese onomatopoetic words and mimicry words, and almost no 1 syllable. But in Korean onomatopoetic words and mimicry words,2 syllables and 3 syllables and 1 syllable are all high about frequency of occurences.Because a character can be a word to express meaning in Krean, while It is difficult in Japanese.2 There is no clear difference between onomatopoetic words and mimicry words in Japanese.Many Japanese onomatopoetic words may be translated to Korean mimicry words.There are 517 onomatopoetic words and mimicry words in Japanese version of manga'NANA', but 568 corresponding traslation in Korean version of manga'NANA',and onomatopoetic words and mimicry words are 402. By analyzing, the results lead to different traslations for the following resons:1. Japanese onomatopoetic words and mimicry words with many in the means, but corresponding Korean means have no form of onomatopoetic words and mimicry words.2. The meaning what onomatopoetic words and mimicry words expressed repeat with the other words in the writings.3. The difference of grammer positioning make nature of translated words change.4. The Japanese onomatopoetic words and mimicry words are replaced by idioms or sayings which with same meaning in Korean.5. The difference of its language sense makes the nature of translated words change6. Onomatopoetic words and mimicry words are replaced by other words which are easy to understand.In the prosess of traslation, in order to express more authentic, translators don't use the way of 1:1 conrrespondence but other ways So far, the feature of phonological and form and the correlation between pronunciation and meaning are main in the study about onomatopoetic words and mimicry words of Japanese and Korean.Grammer study is not enough yet.Compared with the other words of translation, onomatopoetic words and mimicry words translations depend more on translator's language ability and understanding. So when you translate onomatopoetic words and mimicry words, you must pay attention to details.At last, I will make a form about all of the onomatopoetic words and mimicry words of Japanese version'NANA'and Korean versiom'NANA'.
