A Comparative Analysis Of The Nominative Predicative Sentence In Vietnameses And Chinese

Nominative predicative sentence is a particular grammatical appearance in linguistics. It happens in both Chinese and Vietnamese. Due to difference in linguistics between Chinese and Vietnamese, in the form of nominative predicate, there is a certain similarity and difference between both of them. For this reason, the current paper focuses on comparing and analyzing the normative predicative sentence in two languages in order to find out their similarities and differences. In such doing, it helps Chinese student to have a certain knowledge of characteristics of Vietnamese language when learning it. Likewise, it is also helpful for Vietnamese student to know more as they want to learn Chinese.The thesis will be divined into six chapers. The first chapter is an introduction which consists of background of research, methodology of research, significance of research, and material reviews. The second chapter mainly describes and classifies characters of the nominative predicative sentence in Chinese and Vietnamese. This chapter aims to identify that the category of sentence in Vietnamese is opposite and correlative to the nominative predicative sentence in Chinese. The third chapter relates to the comparision of the nominative predicative sentence between Chinese and Vietnamese. It compares and analyzes aspects of structural character, grammatical use, structure of subject and predicate in the nomitive predicative sentence. Thus we are able to find the similarity and difference of these two languages. The fourth chapter is to compare the semantic of normative predicative sentence. Basing on an amount of collected linguistic data, this chapter specially describes and analyzes semantic component of place, time, existence (appearance) and number. The semantic component of the nomative predicative sentence in both laguages is much in the same. There is no remarkable difference. The fifth chapter foscuses on describing and analyzing pragmatical component of the normative predicative sentence. This mainly studies and analyzes its application, use, effect, and context. The sixth chapter is a conclusion and the inductive summary in relation to what the writer have understood and gained while studying the normative predicative sentence in Chinese and Vietnamese.
