"Line"is the earliest form of painting, from the carved line on the rock and cave paintings, scrieve on the tools to the painting line on the pottery, "line" has completed all its forms. After the mature of painting art, "line" has had its own personalities, shown its rich and colorful forms.The line of"blue and white"in the folk kiln on Ming dynasty is representative and typical, the function of its line has turned from the simple effect of contour line to more independent and complex expression of object and the emotion of the craftsmen. The line of"blue and white"in the folk kiln used the skillful lines to summarize the relation between the spirit and the form; used the thickness, length of the lines and so on to describe the feeling and the texture of the object; used the strength and tenderness to express the feeling of passionate or quiet elegant. The beauty of simplicity, strength, image, connotation, space etc. came from the"line", it conceived the rich and changeful emotions more directly. The formation of this line's feature is related to the folk kiln's commercial production, labor, technology, social aesthetic fashion of Ming dynasty and creative freedom of the craftsmen. Research on the line's emotional expression of"blue and white"in the folk kiln on Ming dynasty has important significance and enlightenment to modern"blue and white"and other art classes.
