At the background of marketing economy and open policy, In order to prompt the growth of agricultural economy and farmers?incomes. It抯 necessary to quicken progress of agricultural technology and institutional innovation. Recently, obstacle factors of progress of agricultural technology should be mainly attributed to institutional constraints. Thus, It is a realistic chose to strengthen institutional innovation adjusting to progress of agricultural technology.Recent advances in the study of institutional innovation and progress of agricultural technology at home and abroad were retrospected.General theories of institution and institutional innovation were elaborated and viewpoint that institutional innovation and progress of agricultural technology are independent variable of the growth of agricultural economy was put forward.
