Modeling of several processes in two-echelon supply chains is presented, includingdistribution, order and information sharing, and the algorithms or numerical analysis ofthese models are followed. For the distribution model, the multi-mode distribution and redistribution areconsidered. The model of multi-mode distribution at a two-echelon inventory systemaims at low cost subjected to fill rate constraints, which allows not only for normalsupply of products but also for emergency supply options in terms of lateraltransshipments and direct deliveries from producers. The model of redistribution allowsto redistribute the total system inventory at the beginning of the last review period so asto obtain the best possible service level, in which the expected total units short of theredistribution and that of non-redistribution are compared. For the order model, the multi-suppliers situation is considered. First, the optimalorder quantity allocation between two uncertain suppliers and its effects on theinventory policies of the buyer are analyzed with a cost function, which is proved to beconvex. Second, the order cost model is established for a retailer, which needs to ordermultiple products from multi-suppliers in each period, and then the method of selectingthe suppliers of each period is given. For the information-sharing model, the optimal inventory policies of a producer andits retailer are analyzed. Then the existence of the bullwhip effect in the supply chainand its amplification with the demand correlation parameter and the leadtimes of theproducer and its retailer are proved. Finally, the savings of the inventory and cost at theproducer due to information sharing are verified. All above are also illustrated bynumerical analysis. At last, Supply Chain Management based on Electronic Commerce is considered.Several new characters of supply chain management under the new commerce platformare summarized, and then a few new challenges of SCM are presented.
