Research On Promoting Enterprise Competitiveness Based Upon Superior Resources

The research of strengthening enterprise competitiveness has become a strategic problem of economic progress and received widespread attention of every country. In recent years, several famous foreign scholars such as Porter, Palahalad and Hamel, as well as several famous institutions, such as WEF, IMD, etc, have already formulated their systematic theories and evaluated methods, according to their wide comprehension on competitiveness. In our country, there are many scholars who are making research on enterprise competitiveness and have formulated a few views. However, these views are all based on Capability theory, neglecting using the unique and valuable resources inside the firm to promote enterprise competitiveness. This article advances a train of thought that is based on establishment of the "superior resources" to promote enterprise competitiveness on the basis of the above and constructs a motion mode of promoting competitiveness. This mode includes discerning, cultivating, sustaining and developing of superior resources and it is testified by the Xiangtan Steel & Iron Corporation's practical experience. So this motion mode has very important theoretical and practical meaning to the state-owned Enterprises (SOEs) after entering WTO.
