Globalization is a social phenomenon that springs up with the development of capitalism. To the concept and the characteristics of globalization, different scholar has different understanding both at home and abroad. The western capitalist countries headed by U.S.A. are still the leading strength of contemporary globalization so far. However, the process of globalization and socialism will definitely not repel or violate each other, and these two have extremely close connections from logic to reality. Globalization covers many fields, therefore, brings the unprecedentedly enormous challenge, as well as the rare opportunity to the political, economic, cultural and social development of socialism, which is in its transferring period. Fully realizing the objectivity and irreversible nature of globalization has very important meanings to vast developing countries. Many socialist states represented by China can achieve constant development, make themselves powerful, push forward the great practice of socialism constantly, and realize the great regeneration of the socialist value in the tide of globalization only if they can see clearly the trend of historical development, face bravely the challenges and opportunities accompanied by globalization, strengthen the crisis awareness and sense of urgency, deal with all the challenges calmly, comply with the trend of economic development of the world, and make out correct economic, political, and cultural development strategies from international and domestic angles. It can be predicted that 21st century is the era of globalization, and the theory and practice of socialism will be more opened, more various, and more properly meet the needs of globalization in 21st century. As a result of capitalist globalization, the prospect of our world will be socialism but not capitalism.
