To development of economy and trading, modern port become more and more important. But for a long term, the opinion of port of people has been little change, and it is unfit for port's status in macroeconomic. In foreign, port economic impact studies have increasingly been important as they measure the direct and indirect impact of the ports on patterns of jobs, incomes, and tax revenues in the local economy. Measurement of such impact of seaports on the local economy becomes even more crucial from the viewpoint of state and local government. So it is necessary to study all of port economic impact at our country.The focus of this paper is about quantification of port economic impact, it includes the facts of the contribution of domestic economic and the opportunities of obtain employment. At first, I analyses the activities of port, this work was considered our country's situation, and then I classified them; next, sorted effects of all kinds of activities in different kinds economic impact; finally, through discussed two methods-input-output method and multiper method-and improved on them, I applied themon measure economic impact of special port.I suggested usable conditions of two methods, comment advantages and shortcomingsabout them; and then I compare the result of port of china and foreign port, found outsome reasons of difference of them. I put forward farther research issues at the end ofthe paper.The methods of this paper could be used in practice, and could be used as references forother appraiser of port economic impact.
