In spite of a late resumption of Tai Ping Life, its development is so rapid and it has been one of the fastest insurance companies. The key of success lies in the choice of development strategies in line with its interior and exterior environment, and it makes every effort to create its particular core competence. This document undertakes some theories of economics and strategy management, by positive research, to anatomize the strategy and core competence of Tai Ping Life. On the basis of research, the document draws some lessons, which could be useful to small and medium size enterprises. There are three innovations in this thesis as following :(1) using the six forces to analyze the environment of insurance industry;(2) introducing resource lever theory to interpret the strategy and core competence of Tai Ping Life. This document includes four sections.Section 1: The introduction of Tai Ping Life. This section gives a brief introduction of growing history, shareholders, and outstanding achievement of resumption of Tai Ping Life, Basic theory research of Bane assurance. At first, researching the origin and conception of Bane assurance, pointing out the content of Bane assurance cooperation, then explaining the content in the theory.Section 2: The choice of development strategy of Tai Ping Life. At first, establishing PEST Model to analyze economical environment, political environment, cultural environment, as well as the trend of the development of insurance industry, by positive research. Then, using the theory of the competitive of Porter to analyze the insurance environment, at the same time turning to the Herfindahl Index to study the market structure of insurance industry. At last, this section discusses the inevitability of the choice of development and differentiation strategy.Section 3: Upgrading the core competence of Tai Ping Life. On the basis of the resource-based theory of the firm, the theory of competing on capabilities, and the theory of resource lever, this section sets forth the headsprings of creating the core competence and approaches of creating the surplus of consumer. The core competence of Tai Ping Life consists of two factors as following: innovation and cooperation. The methods of molding the core competence are cooperating, integrating, concentrating, accumulating, creating, keeping equilibrium, and shaping the particular enterprise culture.Section 4: Four problems of the strategy implement. This section dissects four important some internal and external problems in the developing process of Tai Ping, based on this, showing four ways to solve problems, and wishing to give some effective advice to keep competitive advantage in the hyper-competition of Tai Ping.
