Employee performance management is a very important component of Human Resource Management (HRM) and also the core of it. The dissertation starts from the basic theory of performance management, and in combination with current situation about employee performance management in CITC Corporation, makes an all-round research about the design of employee performance management system.As a member of project group leaded by my supervisor, I take charge of diagnosing the current situation of employee performance management in CITC Corporation and designing a new employee performance management system. The dissertation is one of my work results. It contains five sections: the first section introduces the basic theories about performance management; the second section introduces the components and the theoretic foundation of performance management system; section three analyzes thoroughly the current situation of performance management in CITC Corporation; the fourth section introduces the design process of Employee Performance Management System based on the relevant theories and current situation of performance management in CITC Corporation; Section five appraises and summarizes the design work of performance management system. The dissertation is an important experiment in combining theories from MBA courses with enterprise actuality.There are some imperfections in the dissertation, such as the practice whether using work attitude as one of the appraisal indicators is appropriate or not is still in dispute; the rating of appraisal indicators is not well-defined. I will keep on studying new theories and applying them to my work to improve my ability of designing employee performance management system.
