Benchmarking And Its Application In The Performance Appraisal

Benchmarking is a kind of very popular management tool, which not only can improve the product quality and the service level of an enterprise but also can enhance the core competence and the competitive advantages. At last it results to a perfect working performance. Now the research and application of it is widely used abroad. Many famous corporations make it as a routine management tool. It is used in the daily management and gains great effects, but Benchmarking is on the horizon in China, and the literature and the papers about it is very few. The article analyzes the working process of benchmarking systematically, and makes attempt to use it in the working performance appraisal system.In the first chapter of this article, it begins with the basic principles of Benchmarking, making simple introduction about the meaning, type, original and developmental condition; in the second , it expatiates the processing models of Benchmarking, giving the actualized process of management of Xerox enterprises particularly, in the third chapter, it introduces the common methods about the working performance appraisals, which emphasizes the DEA (Data Enveloping Analysis); in the fourth, it explores the detailed using in the working performance appraisal furthermore, in the last, it summarizes the improvement in industrial appraisal system when using Benchmarking.The thesis begins with the basic principles of the Benchmarking and the performance appraisals, expatiating the application of the benchmarking process model in the performance appraisals. And next comes performance appraisals standard, performance appraisals indices and performance appraisals reporting to discuss improvement in the performance appraisals system by virtue of benchmarking. In the final, it involves references significance of benchmarking in companies of China.
