Study On The Development Of Wuhan MICE Tourism

Given the rapid expansion of the domestic MICE tourism because of glorious prospect in practice and increasingly strong interests in theory, the thesis selects Wuhan, one of the most potential cities in the development of MICE tourism among the Central Region, as the research objects to discuss the problems relative to MICE tourism. The thesis attempts to put forward some conductive suggestions for the development of Wuhan MICE tourism in practice.In pursuit of the aim, the thesis comprises five parts.The first part defines the concept of MICE tourism starting from the distinction between Convention and Exhibition industry and MICE industry, and then analyzes its functions.Based on some dates from practical investigation, the second part of the thesis makes a systematic exposition to the conditions of the development of Wuhan MICE tourism from five aspects, that is, location, economy, infrastructure, tourism industry and environment.In the third part, the thesis points out some questions relative to Wuhan MICE tourism at present, and expounds its reasons. These questions includes obscure cognition of MICE tourism, informal order of market operation, shortage for talents of MICE tourism, low incomes efficiency, incomplete marking, backward facilities and so on, which results from the separation of Convention and Exhibition industry and MICE industry.By terms of the research on the development of overseas MICE tourism, especially that of the cities Hannover in Germany and Singapore, the thesis summarizes some successful experiences in the management of the government, the function of associations and the operation of the enterprises, which are useful for reference to the development of Wuhan MICE tourism.After completed the five above parts, the thesis constructs the development framework of MICE tourism and puts forward countermeasures for Wuhan MICE tourism. The development framework of MICE tourism is made up of MICE tourismattendees, MICE tourism association and host location. Based on the framework, the thesis forms the developing mode of Wuhan MICE tourism. In the end, the thesis gives some countermeasures for the development of Wuhan MICE tourism.The innovation of this thesis lies in the thinking way that makes it different from other MICE tourism cities's traditional way.It analyzes the reasons of problems of Wuhan MICE tourism, and then considers the experiences of MICE tourism development in foreign countries. Based on the above two analyzed results, it builds a MICE tourism development framework and put forward the developing model and strategy for Wuhan MICE tourism.
