| Chain supermarkets' operating scale is increasingly on the way of expansion; various problems resulting from the logistics distribution sector have turned out to be the "bottle-neck" that hampers chain supermarkets' further development. Thus the logistics distribution to chain supermarkets appears a weak loop in the whole process. How to cope with this weak loop and eventually strengthen it will be illustrated as the key point in this paper.This paper begins with the analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of traditional logistics distribution model employed by the present chain supermarkets in China. Compared with the traditional model, favorable features of the third party logistics will be introduced and analyzed in detail, which manifests that the involvement of the third party logistics in chain supermarkets' goods supply is imperative or inevitable.This new logistics distribution model of the third party logistics' role in chain supermarkets' goods supply is set up primarily based on the following three aspects:First, absorb merits from traditional "the third party logistics distribution model".Second, take account of the special demand that chain supermarkets' logistics distribution requires. Third, make a series of closely targeted improvement on the traditional way of storage classification management. (With the name of "the third party logistics ABC") All these analysis help the third party logistics better adjust its service so as to be in a good position to satisfy chain supermarkets' logistics distribution demand. To achieve a successful introduction of the third party logistics into chain supermarkets and promote common development on both sides, joint efforts from both sides cannot be sufficient. Government must get involved. Series of laws and mechanisms ought to be established and perfected to create a sound soft environment. In this way the third party logistics can eventually be viewed as "the third source of profits" for chain supermarkets. |
