Researsch Into The Decision Of Third Party Logistics Based On Supply Chain Manangement

The decision of third party logistics (TPL) was a relatively difficult but very important, on the basis of the theory of supply chain management(SCM),the study focused on the main factors affecting the decision of TPL in the enterprises. We studied the characteristics of the decision of TPL under the factors such as enterprise scale, enterprise system. We also examined the relationship between the decision of the TPL and performance.Interview, case study and questionnaire survey were adopted in the research. Data in this paper came from 49 firms and 216 employees participated in the research. The hypotheses were largely supported. The main conclusions were shown as follow:1. Whether logistics was the core competence of enterprises should be judged by four characteristic dimensions: customer value, value superiority, unique, extensibility.2. The logistics resources owned by the enterprises should be classified into three type: tangible resources, intangible resources, organizational capability.3. The four characteristics of logistics and the three types of logistics resources had the significant correlation with the decisions of part logistics outsoucing and operated-by-self.4. The enterprise scale and enterprise system had a significant influence on the decision of TPL in the enterprises.5. The decisions of part logistics outsoucing and operated-by-self had a significant influence on performance. The decision of part logistics outsoucing is a key of the business performance.
