Research On Fundamental Theory Of Event Tourism & Urban Event Tourism

In the first decade of 21st century, China has entered an age that some mega events come in a continuous stream. At the same time, this enthusiastic wave causes domestic tourism academy to start to think and research the mega event and event tourism. On the basis of past researching of event tourism, this article intends to explore the fundamental theory of event and event tourism and finally build a theoretical frame. Furthermore, this article, from the angle of running-city and city-tourism, discusses the importance of event to form the strategic point between running-city and city-tourism, in order to bring the academic benefits to the theoretical researching of city-tourism.The thesis is composed of 4 chapters:In the first chapter, on the basis of previous theoretical research, the author make a particular research on evolution of event tourism, intension and extension of concept of event tourism, main event types, event tourist's decision-making behavior and demand motivation as well as the origin of the West event industry and development trend of Chinese event industry, in order to get a complete understanding of fundamental theory of event tourism.The second chapter first researches the relationship between event tourism and running-city & urban tourism, and then points out the importance to the running-city & urban tourism.The third chapter, from the angle of planning of event and event tourism, studies the organization's operation of event and the role of government in the event.The fourth chapter, taking 2004' Chengdu Da Miaohui as a case, analysis the feathers, strengthens and weaknesses of Da Miaohui by the article's theory.
