With the sounding of the clarion call of the development of western regions, the west of China causes more and more concerns. Eliminating the gap between the east and the west to realize mutual economic prosperity becomes an important goal of our economic development. It's also the main content of carrying out Deng Xiaoping's regional economy thought and "two overall situations" strategic idea. The gap between the east and west mainly exists in countryside. If the west wants to run into paces of the east, it must quicken its development of the countryside. The transfer of rural surplus labor forces is just the breakthrough of western rural economic development. Only through this way can the west alleviate the pressure of economic development, solve the problem of agriculture, farmers and countryside, and fulfill farmer civilization and rural urbanization. The paper aims at exploring a feasible way to realize the transfer of the western surplus rural labor forces to increase western farmers' income and build an overall well-off society. Proceeding from this point, using the logic analysis method of Marxism and positive and normative analysis of modern economic theory, the paper first investigates the surplus situation of the western rural labor forces and the problems existing in the transfer of surplus labor forces. Secondly it analyses the modes of transfer of rural surplus labor forces in the developed countries and domestic developed areas, in the hope of finding out the experience that can be used for reference. At last, based on the current situation of transfer of western rural surplus labor and its influence factors, it puts forward its independent opinion on promoting the transfer of western rural surplus labor forces in an all round way.
