Since China and India have established diplomatic relations in 1950, Sino-Indian relations has gong through a 60 years' course, in which both fraternal cooperation and war due to border dispute occurred. In addition to India chauvinism, geo-politics has played a dominant role in foreign policy -making in complicated and tortuous development of China-Indian relations. China and India co-exist in Asia, and are each other's emerging neighbors, as for it, thinking orientation of geo-politics has effect on treating of the two countries' correlation.Geo-politics is one of factors that caused Tibet issue and border dispute, as well as a significant basis for making of national security strategy of Indian government. The thinking of international politics geo-politics oriented has been used widely in politics among nations during cold war. Although the international political pattern has changed profoundly since the end of the cold war, the impact of thinking geo-politics oriented on interaction in international relations has not been diminished, instead of new features appeared. This thesis attempts to study Sino -Indian relations from a geopolitical perspective. Specifically, the author discusses the development of two countries' relations from three levels:bilateral, regional and global. Through analyzing of new change in the bilateral tie, the author attempt to make an analysis on trend of competition and cooperation between China and India.
