The research on core capability roots from the circumstance that people want to know how to win the competitive advantage in the 1950s. On the base of the research of some scholars such as Selznick, Penrose, Porter, Prahalad and Hamel, firstly, bring forward the core capability theory in 1990. When this theory is introduced, it arises much interest and attention from academe and many enterprises at once, and it becomes one of the most remarkable hotspot, more and more enterprises believe that it is important for them to set up core capability. However, this theory is not perfect, and it exists some problem such as the mistake research from our country's scholars, amending for the theory applied to our country and China's enterprisers being lack of understanding to it. In order to build up correct idea for China's enterprisers and teach them how to set up core capability, it is necessary to research this theory applied to China completely.This paper ,firstly, discusses the evolvement of strategic management and competence theory, then discusses the core capability theory from Prahalad &Hamel and other scholars' research. On the base of analyzing the theory and other scholars' complementarity, we make some amending and complementarity and bring forward a kind of define which is consistent with China's practice. After theoretical analyzing, we make demonstration on the process of setting up the core capability of pharmaceutical enterprises in Zhejiang province. At last, we set forth what the pharmaceutical enterprises should do in the future and their experience lesson to other enterprises.
