The Design And Application Of Knowledge Management System Of Agricultural Scientific Research Projects

During the implementation process of agricultural scientific research project, knowledge communication among research workers is constrained by many factors. The level of knowledge share within agricultural research institutions is low and a lot of valuable tacit knowledge kept in research workers' brain is hardly mined and applied, which impedes not only the innovation of science and technology but also knowledge innovation.The aim of this paper is to design a knowledge management system for agricultural research projects through system analysis to provide a platform for the unfolding of scientific research and knowledge sharing by research workers and for the master of research project progress by administrators in the institution and undertaking scientific management.Due to the fact that the KMS of agricultural scientific research project has not been developed and shaped, this paper used the methods of knowledge management system and management information system, to integrate database technology and network technology in analyzing all kinds of knowledge existed in scientific research project management. It is essential to focus on the transformation of tacit knowledge into explicit knowledge. The KMS of agricultural scientific research project is designed by integrating the reality of scientific research project management in Chinese agricultural research institutions.In order to meet the actual demand of agricultural research workers in knowledge of the scientific research project, 5 function modules of the system have been designed: including knowledge collection, knowledge dissemination and sharing, scientific research project management flow, knowledgebase management, system maintenance and management. Meanwhile, there are 12 management functions corresponding to scientific research project management flow.Finally, we have taken the Agricultural Information Institute of the CAAS as concrete application object, and validated the role of the KMS of agricultural scientific research projects in knowledge management.Through the research of this paper, a good prototype system is supplied for constructing KMS of scientific research projects and effectively implementing knowledge management for agricultural research institute. This research can also be used as reference for others institutions in this field to build corresponding KMS of scientific research projects.
