Security Dilemma Of Northeast Asia And Mitigatory Methods After The Cold War

Northeast Asia , the important, complicated and subtle region in the world, is theintersection of the four powers'interests. The four powers refer to America, Russia,Japan and China. We find that Northeast Asia still can not escape from traditional"Security Dilemma"reflected the problem of the Korean peninsula. For the sake ofpeace and stability, many scholars paid more attention to security dilemma in theKorean peninsula and the complex security situation between nations in this region,put forward some mitigative methods, and obtained great achievement in theirresearch. Base on the effectiveness of these research, applying the methods ofinduction and analysis methods, the thesis systematically investigates themanifestation of the security dilemma of Northeast Asia after Cold War, probes intothe reason for these problems, and finds the way to mitigate the security dilemma.This thesis is divided into three chapters.I. The manifestation of the security dilemma of Northeast Asia after the Cold War.In the Cold War era, Northeast Asia is the battlefield between Western Camp andEastern Camp. To some extent, it means this region sank into intension of securitydilemma. Security dilemma of Northeast Asia has been alleviated after the Cold War.However, a lot of security problems tell us that this region did not get away fromsecurity dilemma. For example, the disturbance of nuclear crisis in the Koreanpeninsula, the lack of mutual trust between nations, the rise of arm race, the furtherconsolidation of the alliance between America and Japan, and the influence ofterritorial disputes, etc. Security dilemma of the Korean peninsula is the core ofsecurity problems in this region.II.
