The importance of Central Asia' s geographical and energetic strategy has suddenly become more outstanding since the independence of the countries of Central Asia, especially the "9.11" accident took place. America, the only superpower today, is adjusting its strategy of Central Asia. Although it has made a surprising success, USA is still restricted by many inside and outside factors. The future of Central Asia does not depend on American wish, but America will regard establishing and strengthening the balance of power in Central Asia as a chief strategic target. This thesis is divided into 6 parts.Chapter 1 is the introduction, which gives an introduction of the background, purpose of this thesis, and the researching status, and also points out the solution of its arguments, the predict achievements, and the research methods which will be adopted.Chapter 2 analyzes the importance of the geographical places and the status of the geopolitical patterns based on the definition of the research scope and the change of the geographical distribution of Central Asia.Chapter 3 is about the entrance into Central Asia of America and American strategy in Central Asia. America entered into Central Asia means that American strategy in Central Asia has been formed and became mature. This chapter will also point out the essence of this strategy which is guided by American globe strategy.Chapter 4 is about the establishment of American strategy in Central Asia and adjustments of its policy, which can be divided into 4 steps roughly that are vague strategy in Central Asia and exploratory policy (1991-1996);clear strategy in Central Asia and policy which paid particular emphasis on infiltration (1996- "9.11" accident);formal strategy in Central Asia and complete, efficient policies ( "9.11" accident-2005);and the mature strategy in Central Asia and policies with allround breakthrough (2005-).Chapter 5 will explain the factors that will influence the enforcement of American strategy in Central Asia. The future of Central Asia won' t be determined by American own intention but will be limited by many factors, including American own factors, other forces, domestic and foreign policies of 5 countries of Central Asia, and so on.Chapter 6 looks to the future of American strategy in Central Asia. In general, it is covers widely but limits in depth because of the limitations of both domestic and alien factors, In a word, America should cultivate such a state consciously: Enjoy itself in a lofty place. But the influence and limits of all kinds of elements set an invisible boundary when America seeks the absolutely superior position in Central Asia even in the whole world.
