Popularizing-Law Education And The Building Of A New Socialist Countryside

China's popularizing-law education process started about two decades ago. During this period of time this process has achieved significant success in legal system building and the implementation of the concept of 'rule of law' through popularizing legal knowledge initially from the elementary level and later to a more comprehensive lever. It has not only greatly enhanced democratic and legal system building and the enforcement of the strategy 'rule of law' but also has made great contributions to our country's social and economic reform, development, stability and the building of a new socialist countryside. Two decades' practice of popularizing-law education is a long-term strategic social cause of the public good affecting the overall situation. This cause is undertaken under the leadership of the Party and initiated by the government. Popularizing-law education is a fundamental strategy in the implementation of 'rule of law' and the building of a legal and harmonious socialist society. On the fifth assembly of the sixteenth Central Committee of the Party, the Party Central Committee put forward the historic task, 'the building of a new socialist countryside'. This resolution is based on the thorough and wise analysis and study of inner and international situation.
