Career Development Of Fuyang Migrant Workers From Nearby Countryside: A Case Study

In recent years, as Chinese government attaches importance to the migrant workers day by day, the studies on them have been increasing. However, most of the current studies are based on the interests of the organization to consider how to strengthen the management of migrant workers, and few of them show concern for the individual growth and development of migrant workers. The paper mainly aims to find out migrant workers' needs to the environment during their personal development, make recommendations to promote their individual development by interviews and appeal to the human care for migrant workers.This paper is divided into six chapters.Chapter 1 is the brief introduction of the paper, introducing the origination, present situation and methodology concerning the study.Chapter 2 introduces the social background of Fuyang, in which my interviewees live and work.Chapter 3, 4 and 5 are respectively devoted to the analysis of the three individual cases, in each of which there are three sections respectively focusing on the growth experience of each migrant worker, significant events of career development, affecting factors and suggestions of career development.Chapter 6 is the conclusion and reflection of the study, discussing the main factors affecting career development of the migrant workers and offering some suggestions, reflecting on the process of studying and envisioning the prospects of the following study of the field.As a conclusion, the author outlines the characteristics of the three career patterns, points out that it is not only personal ability or home environment, but Social system, cultural traditions, socio-economic development and the social services system that affect personal development of migrant workers. Caring for migrant workers, we should concern about their growth and development and create good conditions for them. It will be helpful for the migrant workers to improve the social service system, provide various vocational skills training to meet their educational needs and encourage them to broaden their visual field so as to promote the development of themselves and their children.
