On National Spirit Education Of The Anti-Japanese Base Of Shandong Province

The paper examines the theory, policy, practice and experience of the national spirit education conducted by the central committee of the CPC and Shandong party organization, with Shandong anti-Japanese base as an example. Throughout the past anti-Japanese base research findings, they mainly attached more importance to the study of the establishment, development, economy, politics, military, party-building and other aspects of the anti-Japanese base, with little emphasis on the research of the national spirit education which, in most situations, was only touched on in other fields with no systematic exposition.Four aspects of study are included:First, the fundamental reasons, main contents, orientation of the national spirit education proposed by central committee of the CPC and its leaders with Comrade Mao Zedong as their chief representative as well as how Shandong party organization expounded it.Second, the overall design and specific policies, measures and methods of the national spirit education conducted by the Shandong party organization and how such education is embodied in the cadre education, school education, social education, democratic politics construction and culture building.Third, the role played by the national spirit education is embodied in the building of anti-Japanese base, national advancement and social development.Fourth, the enlightenment availed from the national spirit education carried out by the Shandong anti-Japanese base.The paper is innovative in that it helps elaborate on the main contents and embodiment of the national spirit education advocated by the CPC, that is, patriotic education, the enhancement education of the national esteem and confidence, democratic education and scientific education; arrange the policies, measures and effects of the national spirit education in detail carried out by the party organisation of the Shandong base; expound the striking roles of national spirit education in the national liberation and independence, and the national advancement and development.In this paper, the practical experience of democratic spiritual education carried out in the Shandong anti-Japanese is summaried systematically, which is expected to provide useful referrence to promote the national spiritual education, carry forward and foster the national spirit in current situation.
