"Civil society" is a very important concept in the ideological formation of Marx's concept.In recent years,with the in-depth discussion and translation of the contemporary western political thought,in particular the rise of the wind on re-interpretation of Marx's classic,Marx's "civil society" thought has been paid much attention by our academic field.However,in order to provide theoretical basis for building up the theory of civil society in China,the direction of those researches focuses on the discussion of civil society extracted from the Marxist text.There is very few people who discuss Marx's civil society systematically from the philosophy of revolution.Therefore,those researches were hardly comprehensive.Based on the study, this paper try to use Marx's works written in different periods as its clues,tap the rich content of civil society in Marxist ideology,and carding the evolutional orbit of Marx's civil society concept as well as the impact on the formation of the historical materialism.This paper is divided into three parts:The first part analyzes the two most important sources of Marx's civil society. Those are Hegel's theory of civil society and the humanism of Feuerbach.Hegel is the first person of the theory of modern civil society.He completed the academic analysis of the civil society and the political state,achieving the conclusion that "state is higher than the civil society".It made a special contribution to promote the development of the civil society.The theory of Hegel's civil society directly resulted in the produce of Marx's civil society.Feuerbach's humanistic provided a platform on which Hegel's theory was criticized by Marx,therefore,it become another source of Marx's civil society.The second part is weight-bearing point in the paper.It discussed the thoughts from the "Critique of Hegel's Philosophy of Law" to "German ideology",sort out the development path of Marx's civil society.In the "Critique of Hegel's Philosophy of Law",Marx put forward the principal of social determinants,and draw the conclusion of the separation between civil society and state.Marx believed that it is a dream the Hegel would like to rely on the national civil society to mediate the conflict of material interest.In "On the Jewish question",Marx put forward the distinction of the political emancipation and religious liberation.In his mind,the overcome of civil society and the restoration of human nature rely on the civil society activities within the sensitivity to accomplish the liberation of humanity.In the "critical", Marx found to the civil society's self-alienation.It can assume the historical mission of human liberation.On the basis of critical philosophy of law society in civil society, Marx turned to analyze civil society from the aspect of economics.In the "manuscript of economics and philosophic in 1844",Marx emphasized on the core content of civil society and the alienation of labor.He grasped the idea that the production of the material determined political life,spiritual life and social life.In the "Holy family", Marx viewed material production as the birthplace of the labor,and deepen the understanding of civil society.In the "German Ideology",Marx explained civil society as relations of production clearly.It refers to all material relationship,which is the sum of relation of production.In fact,the sum of relationship of production has been interpreted as the economic base.At the same time,Marx distinguished the civil society and bourgeois society clearly.The third part sets out the functions of Marx's civil society concept in the formation and development of Marxist historical materialism.It is a bridge and intermediary for Marx to build up his historical materialism.
