"Morality & Society", a course in primary schools,centers around the formation of pupils' excellent morality and development of individuals, in a sequence of family, school, community, hometown, motherland, the world, to educate pupils with basic, common sense of morality as the core. Homework of the course is not only the extension of classroom teaching, but also an affective carrier of pupils' moral formation and culture of personality. Through practice, pupils can not only improve the close relationship between school and social life, enrich pupils' learning experience, develop pupils' ability to their comprehensive knowledge application and practical solution to problems, but also can obtain social common sense and experience of social life. What is more, it helps to form excellent acts and morality. However, in the present textbook of "Morality & Society", there is no parts of specific homework assignment. It all depends on the teacher. But in present practice, this course is taken by Chinese language teachers. They tend to neglect the design of homework. Lack of homework will lesson pupils' moral education of the course to some extent, influence the effect of school education, restrict the building up of pupils' morality.This article is divided into four parts. starting from the connotation of the theory of the practical homework design of the course "Morality & Society", elaborates the significance of designing practical homework to the building up of pupils' morality and teachers'professional development, analysise the problems of homework designing of this course, and put forward the idea of optimization of the homework system of "Morality & Society" in the fields of design concept, design principles, time and means, homework assessment. This paper also points out that, on the basis of the differences of pupils' cognition levels, ability, experience, etc.,teachers should stick to the design principles, design requirements, to design various forms of practice to enlarge the space for pupils' practice to the utmost extent, fully motivate the initiative of the pupils to finish their homework, so that the pupils can enrich their knowledge, broaden their scope of vision, build up their ability in the course of practical moral activities.
