The Outline of Chinese Teaching at Secondary Vocational Schools (issued by the Ministry of Education in 2009) stated that as one of the most significant tools for communication, Chinese is a key component of human culture, and that its basic feature is just the unity of its instrumental and humanistic features. It is generally accepted that humanism should be strengthened in vocational education, which, however, has not been attached sufficient attention to in actual teaching, especially in Chinese teaching at secondary vocational schools, which otherwise should play a leading role in humanistic education. Then how can humanistic education are fulfilled in Chinese reading teaching? What strategies are practical and effective? The author referred to vast related literature, only to find most articles or books dealing with humanistic education are involved with moral or ideological education and few are related to Chinese reading teaching. Besides, the little excising research is either too macroscopic , theoretical and impractical , or too microcosmic, mainly descriptions lacking the overall assurance of the Chinese reading teaching. Based on the reading teaching reality and combining his own teaching experience, the author tries to break the existing mode and concept of Chinese reading teaching. In his exploration into the humanistic spirit in Chinese teaching,Changes in the level of language education from the concept, correctly grasp and effectively tap human factors inherent in the text, return to language and text, build language classroom full of humane care, guidance for reading development and concerns of humanistic education life education, and several prominent professional characteristics point of view summarized in the Chinese teaching staff to implement the basic strategy of several humane education and attention problems ,the author has summarized some basic humanistic education strategies in Chinese reading teaching, expecting to bring in certain promotion into Chinese reading teaching at secondary vocational schools.
