Scientific teaching methods can enlighten the students'thinking, develop students' intelligence, and also can explore the potential of students'thinking ability and thinking habits. So they can make teaching more effective and efficient. Therefore, studying teaching methods has become one of the teachers'main responsibilities.Example-illustration method is a teaching method adopted by teachers using examples to expound their views. In the teaching process, in order to achieve the purpose of teaching and fulfill the tasks of teaching, teachers adopt this teaching method under the guidance of a certain epistemology, and under the teachers'guidance, this teaching method pays attention to students'thinking process and ways of thinking. It is of great value for students to obtain knowledge and foster the ability of scientific thinking, in particular creative thinking.This thesis points out the differences between the example-illustration method and case teaching, and introduces their effectiveness in the actual process of teaching. Each teaching method has not only its advantages but also its weakness in the ideology and politics teaching of high schools. During using the example-illustration method, there are some misunderstandings of performance, so the author not only analyzes the reasons for them, but also proposes remedies for them. In order to popularize example-illustration method and make it serve teachers and students better. In order to promote teaching in the final part the writer describes in detail how example-illustration method should be used in ideology and politics teaching in high schools.
