The development of market economy and spreading of Internet generate popular elements with pretty appearances and humorous contents which amuse the public and become more and more popular in the students.Meanwhile, unlike the poplar culture which is widely accepted and appreciated, the pedagogy of Chinese language and literature which is considered as Mind Shaping is struggling. The fact of fears towards classics and ignorance of Chinese learning worried the teachers a lot.Yet popular culture and Chinese teaching are not incompatible.The present writer tries to apply popular elements in Chinese teaching in order to arouse students'interests in Chinese learning and the classics on one hand; and help students nurture basic judgment of culture by teaching them judge popular culture on their own initiative.In chapter one--Necessity and Possibility of Applying Popular Culture in Chinese Teaching, the writer made a summary of popular culture and explained the necessity of applying popular culture in Chinese teaching by analyzing the actual status and relations between Chinese teaching and popular culture; The writer also explained its possibility from three aspects such as historical traditions, actual basis and overseas experience.In chapter two—Practical Cases, the writer stated two practical cases of applying Internet language and pop songs in Chinese learning and her summary and refection after classes.In chapter three—Strategy and Reflection, the writer emphasized on her own point of views on applying popular culture in Chinese learning and the relevant problems which may be caused when applying popular culture in Chinese teaching.
