Small-Sized Class Teaching: Causes And Countermeasures

The small-sized class teaching(SCT) is the high demand for qualified personnel in the knowledge economy society, and a new form of teaching proceeded under the background that the traditional class system has shown its disadvantages and the needs aroused by the concept of personalized education.Small-sized class teaching, as a branch in small classes education, has now become a new area of expertised research, and resulting in a number of researches. This paper, based on the results of these studies, sumarizes the theoretical basis and possibilities of small-sized class teaching. Then combined with the practical reallity of Xishan District, a variety of teaching countermeasures have been put forward. The text is divided into five parts:The first part, introduction. Introduce the research background and significance of the thesis and clear the thinking and research methods.The second part, clarify the differences and features of three relavant basic concepts:"small class","small class teaching","small-sized class teaching", as well as the interrelationships, and then, discuss the development and inner logic of small-sized teaching from the aspect of evolution and implementation.The third part, analyze the necessity of implementing small-sized class teaching and trend of morden teaching according to the theories of teaching based on the aptitude, constructivist teaching, multi-intelligences and humanistic teaching. Analyze the practical conditions of implementing small-sized class teaching according to the specific circumstances of Wuxi District.The fourth part, small-sized class sets a stage for reforming teaching and innovating teaching strategis. Based on it, the paper puts forward a series of countermeasures for the implementation of small-sized class teaching and expects a certain practical significance.
