With the development of economic globalization, the world economy appears new environment and situation, which has also spawned the development of informal employment, its existence has its rationality and necessity. As it has played a good role in promoting the development of economic both in developed and developing countries, it has been the concern of the government and academics. In the context of mass higher education in our country, the employment of graduates becomes more severe. To solve the employment problem, we must do everything possible to expand the channels of employment; we should have new thinking and new ideas. As an important channel for easing the employment pressure, informal employment also have the reference to the college students. Informal employment for college students have a major role in relieving the employment pressure on university students and expanding employment opportunities, its development will certainly be worthy of attention.The research is based on the theory and practice from home and abroad. A literary review has been given on the history of the development of informal employment and the concept that foreign scholars defined. An introduction has been made on the causes of grades' informal employment, as well as its main form and features. Based on the existing literature, this research mainly use quantitative research methods, made an investigation and analysis on university students in Shanghai, to find out their perception, evaluation, and selection of informal employment, and to explore the factors which impact their views on informal employment. The results showed that the overall capability of students has significant influence on their concept of informal employment, and their academic background affects their willingness of informal employment, students come from "985 "universities and other institutions have significant differences in the cognition and willingness on informal employment. There are gender and major show no significant effect; and in the family background, the educational level of their parents and their occupations have a certain influence on students, the relatives and friends around college students are also important factors; university study will significantly affect their views on informal employment; and their advantages and disadvantages of informal employment is also directly affect the acceptance and valuation and selection.
