Wushu is an important part of Chinese traditional sport, but under the impact of sport in the West, gradually developed the branch of Competitive Wushu, and has become an important part of modern Wushu. With the continuous development of competitive Wushu, the competition event has become more and more abundant, making the Wushu students in major of physical education have more opportunities to participate in these events into. However, Wushu students in major of physical education a short training period, lack of competition experience, often in the game can not get a better result. Therefore, in order to enable them to achieve good results in competition, this article start from the physical characteristics of the Wushu students, combined with the characteristics of intensity when competition to explore the way of training in this issue. The main results are as follows:1. The physical fitness and physical training were described through literatures. Physical fitness is composed of body shape, physiological function and physical quality; the goal of physical training is to improve physique structure and function, to adjust the reserve and transfer of matter and energy, to enhance physical quality by reasonable and effective training methods to obtain good achievement.2. Body shape, function and physical quality of Wushu students in the institute of physical education in Huazhong Normal University were tested. Height, hand width, pelvis width, upper arm circumference and waist of male and height, upper extremity length, pelvis width, forearm circumference and waist of female have certain difference compared with the index of excellent athlete via the comparison of characteristics (23 indexes) of body shape. At the aspect of physical quality, flexibility, speed, endurance, lumbar and abdominal strength, sensitive and coordination of students need to be improved; with the aspect of physiological function, cardiac function and levels of maximum oxygen of students were well compared with excellent athlete.3. Heart rate changes during the process of exercise in Chang Quan, Nan Quan and Taiji routines were measured using Polar heart rate monitor. The results showed that it has significant difference among these routines (P= 0.001). Average heart rates in Chang Quan Nan Quan were above 180 beats/min which belong to high to ultimate strength. However, Average heart rate in Taiji was about 150 beats/min which is high intensity.4. Different methods of physical training should be adopted during the process of training on the basis of physical characteristic and routine extensity of Wushu students in the institute of physical education in Huazhong Normal University; adopting the way of increasing of complete set movement training to enhance fitness reserve; emphasizing the basal technique training and coordinate the relative factors influenced fitness...
