Positive Psychology, rises in late 1990s in U.S., is a science dedicating to study the potentiality and virtue. Those concepts, such as the pursuit of happiness, self-determination, positive education, such as positive emotional experience, positive psychological counseling, positive organizational system and methods, etc. advocated by Positive Psychology, provide an insight and important reference for the development and improvement of pedagogical methods of ideological and political education for Chinese undergraduate. The present thesis, starting with brief introduction of background information of current domestic ideological and political educational philosophy and methods and the existing problems, describes the feasibility and guiding principles of referring to Positive Psychology. It further gives an in-depth analysis of the implication on ideology education cast by Positive Psychology. Personal viewpoints on this issue like what and how to learn from Positive Psychology in ideological and political education are proposed. The present thesis takes as its objective the provision of a useful reference for the improvement and the perfection of Chinese undergraduate ideological and political education. This thesis is composed of four chapters:Chapterâ… :Introduction of the trend and the content of the development of Positive Psychology. This chapter focuses on the description of its definition and characteristics of Positive Psychology, and analyzing the social background of the formation of Positive Psychology and its development. The views advocated by Positive Psychology and its content are subsequently demonstrated systematicallyChapterâ…¡:The necessity, feasibility and guiding principles of learning from Positive Psychology for ideological and political education. This part probes into the feasibility of, starting with the analysis of the necessity, referring to Positive Psychology in ideological and political education. It then steps forward to propose the three major methodological guiding principles for how to learn from Positive Psychology in the cause of undergraduate ideological and political education.Chapterâ…¢:To promote the development of ideological and political education with reference to Positive Psychology. This section, beginning with the analysis of the main methods of Positive Psychology and its specific operation, discusses how to promote and perfect methods of ideological and political education. It is suggested that the ideological and political education in our country can be promoted through the introduction and reference of positive emotional experience method, positive psychological counseling and positive organizational system method.
