In recent years, with the modernization and growing urbanization, more and more peasantlaborers which were freed from the arable land into cities, have played a pivotal role in theprocess of urban construction. In the migrant worker rush, they prefer to be "leaving thecountryside but not leaving the land", the number of "amphibious peasant" grows larger.Based on the rational decision-making of home interests, most of the male peasant laborerschoose to work nearby, thus they are living and lives in different regions.Their wives who areboth different from the traditional agricultural women, but also different from the " left-inwomen ", become a special group of rural society,.The traditional pattern "male farmingwomen weave" is replaced by "male work female farming", so women become the maincharacters at home. They not only assume the traditional society role, such as housework, raising children, supporting the elderly, but also assume the tasks of agricultural productionand engage in other production and business activities. To a certain extent, women's independence and autonomy have developed after theirhusbands went to work outside. But at the same time, the multiple roles have increased thepsychological and life burden to women. Husbands go outside, leaving his wife to take care ofthe family in the countryside. The division of labor model of amphibious farmers'family hasan impact on the development of women themselves. This essay which is based on thequestionnaire survey and field work in Lizhuang Village, Hebei Province, analyses presentsituation of the wives of the "amphibious peasant". For the problems, to improve livingconditions of the amphibious peasants'wives, reasonable suggestions have be proposed torationalize the regulation of their life way. Improving the living conditions of amphibiouspeasants'wives, and increasing their own quality and capacity have great significance for thepromotion of social harmony in rural areas and the construction of new socialist countryside.
