As a new academic model, post-modernism has injected fresh blood into the ideological sphere, which makes us re-valuate the world. With no exception, education by which human potentials are developed and improved has gone through the test of postmodernism. Postmodernism exposes the contradictions and predicaments of modernism educational system of value. Educational purpose as the plenipotentiary of educational value has been thoroughly criticized.Postmodernism educational purpose reveals the weakness of metaphysics, the hegemony and violence, decrease of internal value, the crises of dualism in the theory of knowledge, the harm of scientific rationalism, the oppression of the theory of human nature on the human being and the collapse of social ideal in the modernism educational purpose. Postmodernism educational purpose pays more attention to uncertainty, clears up the limits of center and edge, sticks to the dialogue between sides, attaches importance to personality, difference, particularity, shows solicitude for the course not the result, for forming not determining, opposes human centerism and establishes sustained development strategies, is in favor of human freedom and against passive.Postmodernism educational purpose inspires us to re-examine the studies of our educational purpose. A person who is endowed with the universal, eternal and fixed nature has already disappeared. The particularity of a person is forming in the course of his continual creating. Marxism theory tells us that: during constructing the educational purpose , we should consistently pay more attention to a person's actual life particularity, creation and growth ; we should break away from essencialism and foundationalism , liberate a person from various enslavement and restraint of the theories of human nature ,restore human actual features . Educational purpose is to train a special man and to improve his special life , not to train some standard men.Postmodernism has a good side and a bad side. It is rational and important to cling to Marxism dialectics when we learn something from the theory of postmodernism.The thesis contains five parts: l.the analysis about the study postmodernism education in which the author have analyze the present state of the quantitative andinqualitative study of postmodernism education in china and obtained some conclusions. 2.postmodernism education's philosophic foundation in which the author have illustrated the character of the theory of postmodernism. 3. deconstruction and construction of the postmodernism educational purpose which contains the deconstruction of modernism education and the construction of the postmodernism educational purpose. 4.the enlightenment of the postmodernism educational purpose in which the author have given the detailed explanation of the meaning of the postmodernism educational purpose. S.the objective comment on the postmodernism educational purpose.
