Critical thinking is a scientific thinking method which can improve personal comprehensive thinking ability. It's not only a kind of intelligence characteristic, but also the synthetical quality of personality characteristic and mental outlook. Since the 20th century ,the academia in and abroad deepened more and more the research of critical thinking ,which has drawn the attention of the education departments of all levels of various countries .The following essay plans to combine the reality of history teaching in schools on the basis of research achievements of domestic and international scholars ,probing into the cultivation of critical thinking in the course of history teaching in schools mainly from four aspects.The foreword part of the article mainly expounds the necessity of training the students' critical thinking during our history teaching in schools. The first part of the article mainly explores the definition and characteristic of critical thinking. Critical thinking means that people watch and analyse objective things differently from routine angles and methods, making personal judgement to its nature and raising synthetically and constructive opinions. It mainly possesses characteristics such as independent, challenging innovative and surmounting nature. The second part mainly expounds the importance of training the students' critical thinking in schools. First of all, critical thinking is a very important means of training the students query spirit., developingand cultivating their intelligence and thinking. It's set up on the basis of querying. Secondly, critical thinking can train the students' good humane spirit, further perfect their personality. The third part lays particular emphasis on the research into the history teaching materials of high schools and the embodiment in training students' critical thinking in college entrance examinations in recent years. The fourth part discusses the ways and methods of critical thinking combining the reality of history teaching from the two aspects of the teacher and the students. The conclusion of the article points out that we should advocate and train the students' critical thinking energetically in the history teaching in schools in the new era, so as to meet the requirement of the era and society for the talent's constant development.
