During the last decades in the 20th century, the rapid development of scientific technology has changed the world a lot. The development of mathematics as the basic of practice science, has developed a lot in this century, equal to several hundred years that passed, especially the widely used of mathematics. In order to take an active place in the international competition of the 21th century, most nations in the world put all their attention to teaching students with high quality of mathematics. It has become the common sense that we should pay more attention to the usage of mathematics when teaching. But, this goal can't be reached at one time, but a long and effort-commanding process. How to help the students to form the habit of using, is a problem that every math's teacher in middle school should think carefully about.The usage of mathematics can be divided into two parts, inside and outside usage. The consciousness of mathematics application means that the learner can solve the practical problem that he faces in real life. It is an important part in the concept of mathematics. It can be seen from the following aspect; when the learners met with such kinds of problems that need to be solved about the relationships of quality and space, he can managed to find a way to solve it using mathematics. When he accepts a new knowledge of mathematics, he can find out the usage value of this new knowledge. This passage explains the relationship between the form of the conscious and the teaching of mathematics, pointing out the unequal of the two.On the basic of the comparison of the different thinking way between middle school students and grammar school students, we raise such an opinion that middle school is the important period that students form and establish the thought of mathematics usage. We must take good advantage of this period; establish the ability of the students on "What's the usage of mathematics" and "How to use mathematics". This passage explains from several aspects the present state and put forward the corresponding teacher requires and measures.The basic of requirements of forming the usage thought include:1."Professional and all-round" teacherMiddle school students must depend on the teachers in study. That requires the teachers to have wide knowledge and various experiences.2.The right position on oneselfThere are three stages in the usage of mathematics in middle school. First, use the theory to solve the practical problem directly. Second, set up the model for finding the solution of the actual questions that have been polished; Third, analyze the situation of the firsthand questions, assess the main and secondary elements, and then set up the model for finding the solution. The teacher should develop the students' project and steeply according to the appropriate stage and content of teaching.3. Keep the balance between mathematics applying" and "the two bases" The development of mathematics applying awareness is useless withoutsolid basic knowledge and technical ability. The better you master the basic knowledge and technical ability, the better you do in mathematics These two are supplement and complement each other.4. Tally with the preparation of the students' studyApply teaching on mathematics should think about the actual level of the junior students that they have a little knowledge and experience, handle the difficulty, quantity and depth, so as to arrange the right content for teaching. Proper and appropriate aim can arouse the students' study motives improve the force of the preparation level.Developing the applying awareness of the junior students, we should do these following things well:1.
