Xinjiang is an autonomous region of many different minorities. The economy in Xinjiang is not as good as the coastal areas because of its location, natural environment, history and its structure of different minorities. Education is the most important and effective means of being lifted out of poverty and backwardness. The special location and history has been doomed to the special and distinctive local style and features of the minority national traits. The elementary education is the focal point of developing education in Xinjiang and the vulnerable spot is the female education of Xinjiang national minorities. It is valuable to sum up the experiences and lessons during the history of developing the female education of Xinjiang national minorities. This thesis is to try to sum up and analyze the experiences, lessons and problems during the history, and probe the good methods and tactics of developing the female education in Xinjiang. This thesis is divided into four parts.Part One is to study the female educational state before the liberation. At the beginning of the century, some enlightened persons built femaleschools; some Communists did their best to develop female education. They took the lead and the female education was developed rapidly at that time.Part two is to study the female elementary educational state after the liberation. It is to sum up the four hard periods, to affirm the achievement of the female elementary education, to confirm the women who had achieved the great successes, and also to watch what is going on now.Part three is to analyze the major problems. Maybe they are the reasons of the history, ideology, thought, religion and system of educational organization.Part four is about the good methods and tactics of developing the female education in Xinjiang. Basing on the analyse above, comes to the means and tactics of developing female education of Xinjiang national minorities in order to keep abreast of the economical development. And then to affirm and lift the importance and significance of the elementary education of the minority nationalities among the whole national education and all-life education, and also to be sure that the female elementary education can be on the way of its distinctive local style and features of the minority national traits.
