One common phenomena exists in present secondary school math teaching in China is that many students have a week sense in math application ,which has had a bad effect on the students' full development and cannot meet the needs for people with ability caused by our country's fast-growing economy .This article mainly deals with the following aspects. Firstly, it theoretically gives a full illustration on the concept and meaning of the application sense in learning math. Secondly, several factors which affect the forming of the students' application sense is analysed. Thirdly, a detail and practical approach and experiment design on the systemic development of the students' application sense is raised. Fourthly, it says that math application sense is a important part of the students' math diathesis. Fifthly, it analyses the relation between the development of the students' math application sense and the development of their interest in math learning. Sixthly, it illustrates that the development of the students' math application sense is an effective method to raise the teaching efficiency in math class. One important point of the present math teaching reform, therefore, is that the development of the students' application sense must be strengthened in math classroom teaching. One word in all, this article deals with an accurate design on how to carry out math teaching aiming at the development of the students' application sense, how to carry out math construction-model teaching in secondary schools, the relation between the development of the students' research ability and that of their application sense , and how to carry out learning by research.
