In recently years, higher polytechnic college rapidly developed to keep up with the development in society and economy. Higher vocational college aims at fostering advanced technical specialists with excellent practical capability, professional ethnics and creative capability who can work in the fields of production, management and service. Among its aims, pursuing human's overall development is the most important task. Only based on the harmony between technology education and humanity education, human's sustainable development can be realized. Therefore, how to perform humanity education is a new research work for higher vocational colleges. This dissertation focuses on the research of "analyzing the current situation in humanity education and proposing some possible solutions." Based on the detailed analysis, from the perspective of theory and practice, this dissertation tries to propose some scientific modes for humanity education in higher vocational college. In author's opinion, higher vocational college should not only simply function as a education agent for technical specialists, but also for high-quality humans who are featured by strong responsibility, creativity and elegant ethnics.This dissertation is composed of three sections. Section I: analyzing the connotation and function of humanity education in higher vocational college. After summarizing the historical development of humanity education, according to the education aims, five detailed targets and three functions of humanity education are proposed, which lays a theoretical foundation forthe current situation analysis and possible solutions. Section II: presenting the current situation of humanity education in higher vocational college and analyzing the reasons. Many great progress have been made in education notions, teaching program, teaching stuff, teaching methodology and so on. However, there are still some problems unresolved. Generally speaking, many reasons hinder the development of humanity education, they may be utilitarianism values in society, shortness and promptness of higher vocational education, students' ignorance to humanity education or any other reasons. Section III: proposing some solutions and approaches to promoting humanity education. This section is the main body of the dissertation. Taking the current problems and reasons as breakthrough point, some modes are suggested for humanity education. It is supposed that converting the leader's ideas is prerequisite, reasonable curriculum in humanity is the key point, variety in education approaches is the feature and high-quality teaching stuff is the guarantee.
